Kitchen Cleanup
- Dishwashers: Add 1/2 cup vinegar to an empty dishwasher and run the rinse cycle. This will open up clogs and deodorize the machine
- Microwaves: To easily clean splatters and spills, place a glass measuring cup with 1 cup water & 1/4 cup vinegar inside microwave and boil for 3 minutes. Remove cup and wipe inside the microwave with a damp sponge.
- Ovens: To degrease the vents of your oven, wipe vents with a sponge dipped in vinegar , or let the vents soak for 15 minutes in 1cup vinegar and 3 cups water. When Cleaning your oven finish the job by using a sponge to wipe entire surface with a mixture of half vinegar and half water. This will prevent grease buildup.
- Pots & Pans: to keep egg poachers and double broilers form discoloring add 1 tsp vinegar to boiling water. Clean a very greasy frying pan by simmering 1/4 inch water and 1/2 cup vinegar in it for 10 minutes. Wash as usual. Remove dark stains on aluminum pans by boiling pans in 2 tablespoons vinegar and enough water to cover. clean burned on messes off a broiler pan by adding 2 cups vinegar and 1/4 cup sugar to pan while warm, soak for an hour, clean as usual.
- Odors: to deodorize the rugger seal on garbage disposals, remove seal and soak in vinegar for 1 hour.
- Stains: tackle mineral deposits around sinks faucets by squirting them with vinegar. Let sit for 20 minutes then scrub with a old toothbrush.
- Clogs: clear a minor sink clog with a mixture of 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup vinegar. Let Stand 3 hours then flush with hot water.
- Counter Tops: Wipe your kitchen counter tops with vinegar once a day to shine them and deodorize the kitchen. for every day cleaning of tile and grout, use a sponge to rub on apple cider vinegar. This will help with greasy buildup.
Cleaning The House

1/4 tsp liquid dish soap
2 cups hot water

- Sinks: Remove hard water and mineral deposits by covering stained areas with paper towels soaked in vinegar. Leave on for 1 hour, wipe with a damp sponge.
- Toilets: pour vinegar in toilet and let sit for 30 minutes. next sprinkle on baking soda on a toilet bowl brush and scour remaining stained areas.
- Showers: Keep vinegar in a spray bottle to squirt shower curtains 1-2 times per week. This reduces soap film and mildew, do not rinse. You can also spray shower doors to reduce soap scum, just spray let sit then wipe clean with a damp sponge, repeat if needed. Remove deposits on shower heads by soaking them in 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 quart water for 20 minutes. for plastic use 1 pint vinegar and 1pint hot water for an hour.
- Bathtub: to remove tub rings soak paper towels in vinegar and place on the ring. Let the towels dry out. Next spray with vinegar and scrub with a sponge.
Carpet Cleaning
- Catsup: Remove catsup from a rug by spooning a mix of 1 cup vinegar and 2 cups water into rug. Dab stain with a sponge frequently wringing it out until the stain is gone.
- Chewing Gum: to dissolve stuck gum in carpet or cloth, saturate the area with very warm vinegar and let sit briefly. carefully tug at gum to remove it.
- Chocolate: mix 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. sponge on mixture and blot stain with lots of clean cloths until gone.
- Coffee: Mix 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water and sponge solution into rug. Blot up an excess and rinse till brown color is gone.
- Cola: immediately blot cola spill with paper towels then clean area with 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water.
- Crayon: Remove crayon stains from carpet or any other fabric or surface by scrubbing area with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar.
- Glue: A dried spot of white glue can be removed with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. just sponge on mixture and blot. If spot is stubborn, cover it with warm vinegar and let sit for 10 minutes. when glue has softened scrape it up using a dull knife or blot with paper towels.
- Ink: an ink stain on a carpet or rug should be treated immediately by blotting and spraying stained area with hair spray. Once ink spot is gone, work a solution of half vinegar half water into area to remove the sticky spray.
- Red wine: Immediately blot up all moisture from the spill, then sprinkle area with salt. Let sit 15 minutes. The salt should absorb any remaining wine in the carpet. Next clean entire area with a mixture of 1/3 cup vinegar and 2/3 cup water.
- Carpet Rinse: To keep your carpet fresh and clean longer between shampoos, Combine 1/4 cup vinegar and 1 gallon water in a steam cleaning vacuum after shampooing to remove any shampoo residue.
Paintbrushes: Soften harden paintbrushes by soaking them in warm vinegar. First boil the vinegar, then pour enough into a container to cover bristles. Do not soak longer than a few hours or the bristles might be ruined. Wash brushes afterward in soap water then air dry.
Windows: When removing dried paint on glass windows, first spray the paint with warm vinegar, then carefully scrape or peel off paint.
Adhesives: Remove self adhesive hooks or other sticky accessories from a plaster wall by dripping vinegar behind the base of the accessory. Let vinegar soak for a few minutes then peel away.
Plaster: Add 1/2 tsp. vinegar to 1 quart patching plastic to extend the amount of time you have to work with the plaster before it hardens.
